The Redmi 13c 5G was announced on 6th December 2023 and was launched on 16th December, 2023.
This is a budget phone from price view point with pretty decent performance, camera and storage options.
The Redmi 13c 5G has a dimension of 168 x 78 x 8.09 mm. With the thickness of only ~8.1mm it is quite slim and comfortable to hold.
The phone weighs 192 grams, which is almost ~10 grams lighter in comparison to the competition. This may not be a big deal but it is going to feel it on hand when you use it on a daily basis.
The Redmi 13c 5G has quite a big screen with up to 600nits brightness and 90Hz refresh rate.
The phone comes with a screen of 6.74 inches size and has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels which is HD+ resolution.
NOTE:
Display is an important factor in a phone as most of us use the phone to view several visual content on YouTube, Netflix etc.
Having a 720p resolution will give you a little less clarity and color combination in comparison to the FHD resolution which is commonly found in many phones around this price range.
So, if display is an important factor when your buying a 5G mobile then consider different phone in the same price range with better display resolution and other hardware specs.
It comes with a 90Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling look smooth and better visuals on games.
The Redmi 13c 5G runs on a Mediatek Dimensity 6100+ chip.
This is chipset is similar to the Dimensity 6080 which is found in the following phones:
and also similar to the Dimensity 6300 which is found in the below phones:
The Mediatek Dimensity 6100+ is a 6nm process chipset just like the others I have mentioned, which offers better battery life and balanced processing and global 5G connectivity.
The chipset has ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU the same one found in Dimensity 6080 or 6300 which is capable of handling very good graphics with a higher FPS.
This phone comes in 3 RAM variants such as: 4GB, 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The RAM is LPDDR4X DRAM which runs at 2133 MHz. This is same for all phones running on the MTK 6080, 6100+ and 6300 chipset.
On the storage side the Redmi 13c 5G comes in 2 variants; such as: 128GB / 256GB.
The advantage with the Redmi 13c 5G is that it has many variants. You can choose that best suits you based on the price and your need for future.
The Redmi 13c 5G has a dual camera setup having the main camera of 50 megapixels and a 0.08-megapixel depth sensor.
The primary 50MP camera supports video recording up to 1080p@30fps and 720p@30fps which is very basic. Comes with an LED flash.
The front camera supports 1080p and 720p 30fps video recording and supports palm shutter, voice shutter and has a soft light ring.
The Redmi 13c 5G runs on MIUI 14 UI which is based on Android 13 and developed by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi is known to provide good software support which include OS update and security updates.
The Redmi 13c is a 5G mobile which supports all leading 5G frequencies in addition it also supports all other legacy network bands.
It has Wifi dual band 2.4GHz & 5GHz, BT 5.2, USB type-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack for connecting your phone to the outer world.
Various GPS connection solutions such as GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou are there to support you in navigating to different locations.
The Redmi 13c 5G has a 5000mAh battery, supports 18 watts fast charging but the in-box charger is of only 10 watts capability.
The Redmi 13c 5G is priced under 15000 market segment which has quite good competition and variety of availability from other brands.
Pricing in India varies from Rs. 10499 to Rs. 13065.
If you are looking for a value for money phone, then I will recommend the recently launched Infinix Hot 50 5G which offers more than this one.
The Redmi 13cRedmi 13c 5G is a well-rounded smartphone having 5G support, and the base 4GB variant is priced close to Rs. 10000 mark.
While the top variant of 8GB / 256GB costs around Rs. 13000, I see better options at slightly higher price such as below:
If Rs. 10000 is your budget, then take a look at other 5G phones such as the Infinix Hot 50 5G or the Moto G45 5G.
